Human Resources Assistant - Contract (Toronto Office)

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting the MFDA Human Resources Department and for supporting the Human Resources Coordinator as required.

The HR Assistant provides assistance in relation to company objectives pertaining to employee relations, employment standards, as well as compensation and benefits.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Human Resources Coordinator with the recruitment and hiring process.
  • Maintains employee files, benefit and pension records, updates attendance and vacation records as required
  • Assists in the maintenance of company policies, HR departmental procedures, orientation manuals and health and safety records.
  • Coordinates enrolment for MFDA Benefit Plan and Pension Plan.
  • Assists HR Coordinator and Departmental Director with other HR duties as required.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.
  • HRPA member in good standing an asset.
  • CHRP designation considered an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of HR best practices to administer HR programs and policies.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel, HRIS experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of Labour and Employment Standards and employee relations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working within a Human Resources Department
